The Australian Opal Association Inc. aims to promote and educate the industry and consumers about our magnificent homegrown gemstone. It is the only industry association focused on the entire supply chain of our national gem and comprises of members from mining all the way to international retail. The Association is currently participating in the creation of a global Opal Guide by CIBJO (The World Confederation of Jewellery and Gems) which will provide a standard and recognized classification to aid all industry sectors and consumers. Australian Opal is a globally popular gemstone and Australian retailers are primed to take advantage of the next generation of consumers who appreciate its beauty, individuality and provenance.
